The Singaporean container carrier Ocean Network Express (ONE) no longer transports goods to and from Russia for the time being. The company announced Monday that it would first look at how it can avoid violating sanctions against Russia.

Hapag-Lloyd already decided to take similar steps. Maersk, the Danish shipping company, also warned their customers. The company may too stop their transport to and from Russia.

Due to the war that is raging on, ONE no longer transports containers to the Russian ports of Novorossiysk and Saint Petersburg on the Black Sea. Also the Ukrainian port city of Odessa is no longer accessible.

For the time being, The Swiss-Italian MSC will continue to sail to Russia with some restrictions: All freight transport to Russia must be prepaid and the cargo that the specific company has to deliver must be additionally screened to see whether sanctions are not being violated with the export to Russia.
