407 MILLION EURO

Vopak sells three terminals in the port of Rotterdam to British investor and BCTN owner Infracapital. This concerns a deal worth 407 million euros. Vopak reports this in a message to investors. The sale includes the chemical terminals in the Botlek and the Chemiehaven and the TTR terminal. Together they have a storage capacity of 1.4 million cubic meters. Biofuels, chemicals and petroleum products, among other things, are stored in the tanks.

Listed Vopak says the sale is part of its objectives to improve financial performance, grow in gas and industrial terminals and accelerate towards new energy sources. The group will have a net profit of approximately 368 million euros from the transaction, which should be completed before the end of this year

£340 billion

Infracapital is part of the large asset manager M&G, which is based in London. The investor is not an unknown player in the logistics world and is also the owner of the Inland Terminal Group, which includes BCTN and MCS. The investor also has interests in, among others, the Italian terminal company Gruppo Investimenti Portuali and the British rail operator GB Railfreight. Infracapital’s total assets under management amount to more than £340 billion.

Vopak had already said in February that it was looking at strategic options for the terminals. The tank storage company is listed on the Euronext in Amsterdam. The head office is in Rotterdam.
